Legacy

David G Devino Sr was an owner and Vice President of Mercury Fuel Service Inc, where he worked for over 40 years.  He grew his father’s petroleum and real estate business along with his brothers, and his primary focus was the retail heating oil division, HVAC, and service departments.  He was highly respected for his integrity, industry knowledge, passion for the business, and desire to uphold the reputation of the 70+ year old company.

David was an extremely talented musician who was gifted with perfect pitch. He began studying classical piano at the age of five.  In his early teens he took up the guitar, and eventually played in several bands including The Finished Product, Phase II, and most recently the Devino Brother’s Ol Skool Horn Band.  He also sang in the Blessed Sacrament Choir and the Naugatuck Valley Community Choir.

David was also a philanthropist, focusing on local Catholic churches, and he was also a member of the Waterbury Lions club, where he received many awards.  In 2008 he received the Lion’s Club Knight of the Blind award, and in 2009 he received the honor of the Order of the Holy Sepulcher at St. Patricks’ Cathedral in New York.
